Clare Island Community Rallies Together Once again in 8th Annual 10K walk/Run For Cancer Care West

It starts with the short ferry crossing from Roonagh pier, which provides stunning views of Croagh Patrick, Connemara, and Inis Turk, and continues with a gentle stroll to the island’s community centre where participants register for the 10K and receive an unrivalled welcome from the inhabitants of Clare Island, who give their time and home baking voluntarily to the event.

Tea, coffee, and pre walk/run refreshments are all provided before the race starts at 1pm and again after the race for all registered participants and supporters. The few hills along the 10k route help provide the most stunning island and sea views, and whether you are a runner, looking for a 10k challenge, a walker wanting an incredible scenic walk, or a family in search of an island adventure – this is the event for you.

The ferry on the morning will depart Roonagh Peer at 10.30am and it will leave Clare Island after the event and presentation at 4pm.
